A nail or a piece of rope. Both examples of technology; objects or tools that enhance and extend the actions and possibilities of a body. What uses does technology has beyond what it has been designed to do? A nail can be used to write, scratching words in stone or earth. A rope can be used to suspend clothing in the air or to make marks on skin. Relating to my research, I would like to explore the principle of suspension in relation to the knowledge that I have of the body, of dance, anatomy, of rhythm and melody, of space, improvisation and instant composition.... What kinds of knowledge can I suspend and what happens when I do? What happens to the other kinds of knowledge when I put my preferred knowledge (my habits) at stake? Does this other knowledge become visible? What technology can I use to suspend and/or to make words physical?
